I would love to know the hospital's view on this...Idiots that work here, all of them

daily spaking - phatty duwop

Absolutely ridiculous, isn't it. This is the way a lot of them dictate, especially on B RA accounts. Awful.

My POD is no better...considering ASR - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Inserts words randomly that could actually fit and also uses synonyms now..makes random headings, I don't need to list, we all know..Really not sure what they expect. ASR is the downfall for quality, especially for those of us that learned straight typing. Not our faults, it is just the way our brains work. So I assume us dinosaurs will be replaced by a new generation,,, or the job will go bye bye altogether real soon. My main goal with this company is to be fired. I've never been fired from a job in my entire life, so that ought to tell you something.

Gee. Did the doctor actually say is? - nm

With the great sound quality - MT

two people can hear different things. I got marked off for putting "a" instead of "the"...to me these can certainly can sound similar if the sound if muffled or he/she isn't speaking clearly.

Ridiculous; something like that should have NO point value at all, but then again - CH

what do you expect when they even ding you for feedback - Sheesh.

They constantly tell you not to overedit and make - sure the intended meaning is there. Then,

[ In Reply To ..]
they turn around and ding for the missing a, an, the, is junk. They need to decide how they want it and stick to it

What about email from PC coach that looks like it - was put together by a 5th grader. Who

is auditing that content? We have a PC in our POD who appears to rush to get something out just to show her presence. How sad is that? Based on this, one can only assume auditing and PC jobs are not based on knowledge or skill.

Or when you route something through QA - and

Same doctor all reports sent for clarification because God forbid he speaks like a human. One pretty much leaves your report alone, another goes on a semicolon rant, and another completely reformats your report? I sent them to check formatting, did them exactly the same..No I'm not confuse, not at all!!!!

A fine example of - SM

nitpicking at its finest. Beyond ridiculous.

I hope you fought that. - Same POD

[ In Reply To ..]
I saw that one too. That should be only a feedback error, if anything. If you look through other errors in the list, there are other that are similar to what you did and are only feedback errors. For instance, there's one that says: "General: No fever, chills." vs "General: No fever or chills."

It is worth disputing because even at 0.25 off, it can bite you in the butt if it brings your average down below passing.

There is a auditor in our group who is a whackjob and marks off for everything. I've reported a few that I got points back for being just like yours. These auditors need to be brought down a notch or 20.

I went to the AHDA conferences a couple years back and listened to a yahoo talk about the wonders of voice recognition. He stated that we shouldn't be overediting; if the sentence makes sense and doesn't lose meaning, it should stay. Unfortunately, the hospitals who were sold this crud didn't get that information.

Oh, it wasnt my error - OP

[ In Reply To ..]
I just saw it and couldn't believe it. I hope he/she got on the phone and raised holy heck. Last week, there was one that was something like "without afib" and should've been "with afib" and got a "feedback error." Pure insanity.

And then, the salt in the wound is, all this intense scrutiny is for a mere minimum wage.

That is insane. - MT

Do they think the actual dictator would care about that? So glad I left that horrible company. Now doing QA for a great, family-owned company who doesn't follow grading systems. I get to use common sense. VR put Alzheimer's and you left the "s" in? So what, fine by me. You left a "the" or a comma out that didn't change the meaning of the sentence? It's still accurate. You missed a hyphen or some stupid BOS rule that the dictator and facility could care less about? Why would that be an error?

VR was NOT designed to be nitpicked. It's not supposed to be over-edited (that's why that term exists). I also know for a fact some of these ridiculous specs are because MTSOs like M*Modal give the facility a check list (do you want that department capitalized, do you want the date like this, do you want the patient name to be put in, etc.) instead of making a standard format. So the facility just checks things off they never cared about before and the MT gets stuck with the myriad of specs and trivial, time-consuming "errors" - insane.

Do You Keep A Daily Log Of Your Work?
Oct 20, 2010

If so, what information do you log?  I keep a log of Job ID, dictator name, wt, and character count per report.  I'm wondering how much my logging time cuts into my productivity.  Especially, recording the character count because I have to go into document properties and write that down.  I do that because there is no way for the MT to check her line count herself and our team lead to give us our daily line counts.  So I like to make sure everything jives, if ...

Pristiq Dose 2 - 25 Mg Daily Or 225 Mg?

Hey all, I am trying to figure out if Pristiq can be dosed at 225 mg?  The website I use for dosing doesn't say that.  The doctor says, "two twenty-five mg daily."  He doesn't say two hundred and twenty-five mg daily.  However, I see that Pristiq comes in 50 mg, so if the dose was 50 mg why would he say 2 - 25 mg?  LOL!  Just checking to see if anyone has an idea.
