I'm pretty sure that for MTSOs, "severance" means - they chop off MT"s hands when she leaves.
Posted: Apr 06, 2013I think it's part of their "Do-not-compete" clause........
There is no severance for me when I get - THE CALL.

I have no more PTO and work PT. Even though I have been here less than 30 years. All I will get for severance is an arthritic right ankle because of overuse of the foot pedal, carpal tunnel now developing in my wrists and having weak wrists and now my hips having trouble, yet I exercise and I am thin.
Haha. Yep, severance for me from this company is the wrists and right foot.

Pretty Sad Apr 30, 2011A local real estate company in my area offers a document shredding day every 6 months or so. I have a ton of old papers that need to be shreaded so I was going through some of them tonight and I came across a bid given to my boss when I worked in the Radiology Dept. in a large HMO back in 1986. It was a bid from a transcription service trying to get the contract for the outpatient Radiology. My boss gave it to me as I was the Sr. Transcriptionist; we were union and no way was ...

CCM Pretty Worthless Jan 23, 2012I am so tired of the d*@m excuses all the time. I send emails to my CCM they never get answered, its not like they are not important, they are not stupid worthless questions. I don't think we got decent training so of course we have questions, so then I have to email her boss to get an answer, but the excuse is "well she has 150 people to supervise so she's very busy." Well that's not my problem she took that position she should d#@m well answer her emails! Is there a place in ...

Does Anyone Know What This Means? Aug 20, 2011I saw this at the end of the ad on the job board for Escription, and don't understand it:
** IF YOU’VE EVER BEEN RELEASED/LET GO FROM AN ESCRIPTION ACCOUNT FOR QUALITY ISSUES IN THE PAST, YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO WORK ON THESE ACCOUNTS, AS I WILL BE UNABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH AN ESCRIPTION ID. **
Does it mean that if you get taken off an Escription account at another job, you get banned from the system for good? What's up with that? ...

If Someone Had The Means... May 03, 2013If someone had the wherewithall to create an oldfashioned transcription service that paid will and supported their employees they could staff a pretty good bunch of experienced and loyal employees just from this site. Need SHORTHAND Help ASAP!! Pretty Please! Oct 16, 2009When using Shorthand, I type a word and then if I have to put a comma after the expanded work the word comes up again.
Example: I type my abbreviation for "however" and put a comma after it and it looks like this: "howeveowever,"
This happens with every word that gets expanded and then I type a comma after.
What's up with that and can anybody help? I can't seem to find anything in the Shorthand Guidebook. ...
People Are Really Pretty Nice On Here Feb 05, 2010I've noticed that all-in-all, people are pretty nice on here. There are a few negative people and people who jump to conclusions and take things the wrong way, but those are very few. Most of the people here are quick to try to help when others need advice to improve their production or find a job. That's so refreshing. ...

It's Pretty Easy To See One Of The Problems With Jul 13, 2010...and probably those of some other companies as well. Transcend supervisors are expected to oversee teams of up to 35 MTs, keep the account in TAT, mentor their people to improve their performance, ride herd on "mavericks", monitor the account status and do all of the other typical supervisory chores....

By All Means ... Enjoy :} Jun 27, 2015No doubt you’ve read marketing articles written by Nuance extolling the benefits its voice recognition software for medical professionals. That’s to be expected — they’re trying to sell a product. A very expensive, time-consuming, imperfect product that is not for everyone, no matter how hard they try to convince potential buyers otherwise. But they are very good at making it seem like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Because the buyers believe th ...
Feel Pretty Bad About Line Counts Jul 21, 2012I am getting to feel pretty bad about my line counts. I feel like it is getting harder and harder all the time. Now I am down to about 100 LPH on VR and I am logging in and out b/c I got the performance review, that I am not supposed to have hands off keyboard or foot off pedal. I have been on since 11 a.m. and it is 3:30 and I only have 500 lines. What is wrong with me... I used to get 1200 lines in 6 hours, now I am getting 600 in 6 hours... What the heck???? ...

More Insurance Coverage Means Jul 23, 2010Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but I haven't been able to find a thread about it.
If the health care reform means more Americans will be insured, then more Americans will be using doctor and hospital services, and there will be that much more transcription to do. Do you think this is right? Shouldn't there be a much bigger volume of transcription to be done, starting in a few years? ...

OOW Means OS For That Time Period Oct 15, 2012You can guarantee the out of work situations are not truly out of work. Go to ES website for your account and select "all available" files. So Reshuffling Of Accounts Means Nothing Oct 19, 2012Apparently I am still in the half of the North that has no work. After seeing the list of accounts we supposedly have in our new BOB I had a glimmer of hope, until we got the update today that stated that most of these accounts offshore anyway. So more accounts but not really any more work and more MTs fighting over a minimal amount of work. Plus incentive this weekend so now it is a double whammy of no work. Looks like I will be taking the day off ear ...
