How are we expected to get anything right - sm

I go to the "examples" in repository and every one is formatted differently for the same work type by the same dictator. Not to mention what is probably "standard text" are all different as well. Then you have QA who mark you wrong for things one way, then you change it (against your better judgement) and do it their way, only to be marked wrong again. So you ask your QA lead who tells you the way it is supposed to be, only to go into the transcrption guide and find out YOU were doing it the right way from the beginning and QA is wrong..I give, I seriously give, shoot me now and put me out of my misery.

I gave up today also. I'm done. Drew the line. Fire me, but I don't care anymore. They made me hate my job and hate getting up. I will do what I've done for the past 20 and screw them. I don't care... do you hear me mmodal? You win... I dont care!

I started a new client for an MTSO recently. One ESL dictator's H&Ps are so out of order they require a ton of reformatting. This is the order he dictated: History of Present Illness, Past Medical History, Chief Complaint, Plan, PE, Review of Systems, Assessment/Plan. The template has to have formatting changed (bold headings and point size), the guy is very difficult to understand, does not use proper grammar and needs most sentences restructured. I have never seen pay so low for MTs....I am really pretty shocked to see some of the rates. I do realize that good ol' 11-12 cpl is never going to be coming back, I know the economy is not good for anyone, businesses included, but I really am wondering how low can I go and still make a decent living? Back in my day, it was typing on a Selectric, making copies and filing, phone duties, mail and making coffee. I would like to work for a temp agency to feel out some companies. Can anyone elaborate on what software one should know and what else is now expected? Any good software tutorials? I am much obliged.
