Help - ASR spacing - Anon

I just got an unfamiliar account. The ASR is only showing 1 space after periods. Am I supposed to leave it or add a space. One space is a rip-off!

On the back end formatting, they change all 2 spaces to 1 space anyway, then probably still charge the customer for 2 and my guess is, only pay us for 1.

If you add another, it will be a waste of your time.

I don't think we get paid for spaces anymore anyway - so I would not change it.

Some Client profiles want 1 space. You could go to the tools and "replace all" period space with period space space. I have done that. Doesn't take but a second and does the whole report. For 60% of my line rate, I wouldn't.

You need to KNOW if you are getting paid for spaces. Probably not. - nm

Have you seen a job after it has gone through the count - process. Or are you going by what you are told? S

I worked for a company that swore we got paid for spaces but when I checked a job after it went through the process that figured counts, low and behold, was NOT getting paid for spaces. When I brought it to attention of MTSO it was changed so we did indeed get those spaces. I know, I checked.

I had the same issue with an account I work on and I emailed support and they changed the spacing right away to 2 spaces after colons and periods. Why don't you do that too and see what happens!

I have always double spaced my reports when I transcribed unless the client profile told me otherwise. I have noticed most of my ASR reports are single spaced and some are double, even on the same client. What is the standard for spacing regarding ASR? Thanks guys! A lot of times when I use and expansion at the end of a line, it automatically will pull the expansion and sometimes several words before it down to the next line..Makes the spacing look terrible on my end, wondering if it fixes itself in the upload. I have checked my expansions and there are no spaces or anything in there that I can see that would cause this. ...

after the period or 2 spaces? The accounts I do have only 1 space after the period rather than the usual 2 spaces. I notice that on the final patient copy there are 2 spaces after the period. Makes me suspicious of possible line count manipulation. I am sure that I am probably losing a lot of money over time not getting paid for that space. ...

I would just leave it as is,,but there is no continuity within the reports, sometimes 1 sometimes 2. Same with colons. Now I have to check every single period, if it is at a margin, it is a real pain. This is why I firmly believe we are sll editing some foreigners work on a regular basis. I never too the editor test, I want no part of it. ...

I now have a new computer and I am using Word 2010 to send files to the lady I work for, where I previously used Word 2003 - she says when she receives my files now the spacing between words is a lot, not normal, when it looks totally normal on my end, I don't know how to fix this, may have to go back to using the old computer and Word 2003, but that makes no sense.
