Does this happen to anyone else - your footpedal stops working in the middle of a note and you have to use the keyboard commands to finish playing the audio, you upload the job and the footpedal may work for the next note or may not. Frustrating. Not as good with the keyboard commands for audio. I have shut down and restarted and that will help for a while. Called IT and of course, they say my footpedal is fine and to shut down if it happens then log back in. Its ridiculous with all the glitches we have to put up with.

should be working on, instead of creating new functions that do not work, and then creating more workarounds. I usually just tap the pedal a couple of times and it resets. Below is their workaround:

Check the underside of the foot pedal for the model:

1. If the model is IN USB-1 or IN USB-2, confirm that the setting under
Tools > Options > Audio is VEC USB Footpedal. If inaccurate, adjust it.

2. If the setting is accurate, contact Support and request an IN-DVI-USB foot pedal.

3. When the DVI foot pedal is attached, access Tools > Options > Audio and select the Digital Voice USB Foot pedal option.

thanks for all the steps - settings for foot pedal are correct, things are working so far today (probably jinxed myself).

Totally agree about fixing the "known" issues instead of adding something new that in the end does not work or causes us more frustration.

They don't fix the messes they have already made and they are creating new ones!

Place a remedy ticket requesting their #2 option " 2. If the setting is accurate, contact Support and request an IN-DVI-USB foot pedal" per their instructions, just in case it happens again (or when it happens again). Keep the foot pedal you currently have so if the new pedal doesn't work (which does happen), at least you'll have something.

The exact same thing has been happening to me for the past month. To get it to start working again I have to reboot the entire computer, not just ChartNet. BTW, I have an Infinity USB-2 foot pedal that is only 2 months old ($55). It will quit working between jobs and has actually quit working after 3 or 4 lines into a job. Using the F12 key is a real pain, as you know. And yes, I do believe it has only happened with editing jobs (MModal), not straight type jobs. Let me know if you find a real fix for this.

Does anybody know what the keyboard shortcuts are to stop and start audio playback in DQS? I know I have done it by accident before, and it keeps playing, unlike if you use the foot pedan where you have to hold it down the whole time. I have never liked having to hold the pedal down. I downloaded their file (pedalplugin-win) but whenever I lift my foot off play, the tape rewinds to beginning. I cannot rewind or FF and autoplay to 0 isn't registering. I'm over testing for the Q on their test site and thought I had installed my foot pedal but it's not working. Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with my foot pedal? While I am working, sometimes when I lift up my foot to stop the dictation, it keeps playing like the pedal is stuck or something. Hello:) I just got a new computer and was in the process of moving my foot pedal over to it, and to my shock, there is no outlet in the back of the new one that is compatible with my old foot pedal, which is a DB9 outlet, there are only USB ports back there.
