Open for any suggestions on how to handle this one? I am on vacation. I'm from Chicago and right now in a hotel in Asheville NC on a road trip until July 1! I checked my email and saw that I have a failed audit and have a scheded mandatory conference call on Wednesday at 11 am. Well, I am going to be in the van with my family on my way to Virginia at that time!! Should I call and let the pod mistress know or act like I never checked? I had such a feeling something like this would happen. I was put on PM back in March with a verbal warning and have not heard a thing since but have bee passing. This REALLY sucks! ð��

she is on vacation!! She shouldn't be responsible to check her email or call and tell them. They should be able to figure that out all on their own, after all it is on their beloved time sheets.

I do not even turn on my computer when on vacation - so how would you be expected to know?

I've often wished I could check work email "just for the heck of it" when on vacation but have no way of doing it. How do you get to your work email if you are not on your work computer?

If I were you, I would just say you had no way of knowing, you were on vacation. Surely, when you don't make the conference call, they will finally check and see that you are on vacation, which they should have checked your schedule beforehand.

Your pod mistress knows you are on vacation! She knows vacation time was approved! Why do these idiots do such things? I would be tempted to act like I never saw the email and try to enjoy the rest of my vacation without worrying about the stupidity of this job.

I was put on PM 2 years ago and never heard another word and only remember when I pull it up in Ultipro. Stupid program!

I would call your supervisor and let her know you are on vacation and need to reschedule the meeting for when you're back to work. Just an FYI... Emails can be sent with return receipt requested so it's possible to tell if someone opens the email if you choose that option. Just sayin... why lie anyway?

If they look on here and figure out who I am I didn't say anything bad. Only checked my mail because I really do care about my job. For the person who asked how I access email. I use the IP Switch mail server on my phone.

still have just a basic phone. I use my mini iPad when out and about or away on vacation. I will remember that when I decide to come out of the dark ages. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

You can check email from an iPad when away from home - I did it from my iPad when I was on vacation

when you are in your e-mail copy the web address from the top of the page https://mtmail.us etc. and then just save the link somewhere on your iPad or in your personal e-mail

I do not understand how that works, as I use - Windows Live Mail for work email.

If they try to hassle you for missing the meeting, politely point out you were out of town on scheduled PTO. You can even say you didn't have access to the internet.

Heck, for all they know, you could have gone camping and road tripping for vacation.

i would send them an email reminding them you are on vacation and unavailable but will contact them when you are back to work. and seriously, who cares if "they" know who we are and what we are posting here? thats silly. it does not matter.

I was put on PM a little bit back. I have heard nothing, no feedback, no audits, nothing. Please let me know what the outcome is. I don't understand how you can be warned and get no help to improve.

Oh and how I would handle your situation is directly related to how I much you need the job. I was set to early retire in August, so I don't really care. I am actually hoping to pull some kind of BS firing so I can collect U/E and pull in some extra money. If you need the job, personally, I would just call and say can we put this off until I get home.

Most state laws allow you to tape without notifying the other party you are doing so..Check your laws..Its called cover your butt

If it is going to drive you nut and you won't be able to enjoy yourself, then I would email or call after hours to leave a message for either the QC or the HDSM. I failed an audit and the scheduled my meeting on a holiday during hours that I was not scheduled to work, but then someone figured it out and changed the date and time. They may figure it out on their own.

They do it on purpose as that is how management is trained...to intimidate. Gone through many of these times. You just need to work. I heard the original poster say she like her job. Why do they beat people up constantly. Even in their "conference calls" they are at HOME and it is not inconveniencing them. When they go on vacation, nobody bothers them...lucky to have the money for a vacation.

lots of e-mails that require immediate response when I have been off and checked my e-mail. I just do it so I don't come back to a hundred e-mails to go through Do not let them take away from your time with your family. This company has taken enough away.

I contacted her through email and said I would call to make sure she received it. She responded that I was"excused from the call" and to enjoy the rest of my time away. Who knows what I have to look forward to on my return but can't worry about that now! Back to my family! I will update ya'll on the outcome! ð��¨

I decided to look how many hours left in PTO and it was deducted today because I used some PTO on this paycheck that should have been deposited in my account yesterday morning. I think that is good news? Payroll doing their job? Maybe it means paychecks should be in our accounts in pending mode which should be deposited first and then deductions taken out next. in a few months. I get direct deposit and rarely check my pay stubs on line. I've been doing significantly more lines this month so I wanted to see exactly what I make per line on ASR. My lph doing ASR is the same as my lph for straight typing!! - I'm not a fast typist anymore - hands a bit stiff at my old age. I've tried everything, including only using the keyboard and no mouse. Just too much stopping and starting - at least 3 times a line. And if it's a correction, extra time needed to highlight and type over.
