I know someone recently talked about this here, but just thought I'd ask how common is this now? My last account, which I lost to offshoring, had about 5% cell phone dictators, but this new account seems to have over 20%. It's driving me crazy - tearing my hair out - almost bald at this point. :P

Seems like 100%... - Hate, hate, hate cellphone dictations.

on my main account at a big MTSO. Sometimes I question if the hospital is saving money by not paying for landlines and making dictators use their cellphones.

I have it in my service contract for landlines only. When certain physicians started dictating on cell phones, I pointed out to the person in charge of my job that this was a major risk management issue due to all the mistakes being dictated because the dictators were distracted and dictating incorrect things as well as the havoc it wrecks on my TATs. She addressed this promptly. When it starts happening again, I charge extra for it, which really stops it dead in its tracks. Cell phones do not record clearly on dictation systems no matter how good the "flexiport" is. Same with VOIP, which I hate even worse.

I was looking at an MTSO's web site a couple of weeks ago and noticed they were promoting their new dictation app for smart phones. Guess this will be the next wave of production/pay killers to hit us.

I have bought 4 new headsets this year, and have decided it is not my equipment or my hearing causing all of this muffling and distortion...it is at the client's end.

I have the nicest clients ever. After contacting office staff that the physician's dictation was problematic due to the cell phone used, the physician redictated this on a landline. Wow! Nicest ever! Has anyone ever used one of these services: idigital call-in dictation or Atom live digital dictation? I may have a chance to get an account, but I would have to have the ability to have the doctors call in to dictate. a small, raised lesion that actually appears to be a basal cell carcinoma. It is in the vermilion border. It is associated with some dimpling in the center and has the rather typical pearly appearance with two injected vessels.- does anyone have a guess as to what sounds like "two injected vessels might be.?
