What I dislike most about working on a "platform" - justme
Posted: Jan 22, 2012
That moment when you are a few sentences into the next dictation and you realize you made an error on the last report and there is no way to go back :(
Each platform is different, and they have different features. I have only worked on one that didn't allow you to go back and edit, and -- like you -- I hated it.
What really boggles my mind is seeing these hospitals and MTSOs going with the most cumbersome, clunky, least efficient platforms on the planet! You know, the ones that require 20 or 30 steps before you even begin typing the body of the report? :)
What gets me about platforms is - Old and Tired MT

They never ask the people who will be using them to help design them. The all-knowing techies make them up, sell them to the companies and tell them how wonderful they are, and then the MTs are stuck with them, no matter how slow, clunky, or how many screens you have to use before you can actually start typing the report.
I'm having a hard time reaching my line count since being moved to another platform. Things are really slow with this new platform. Support tells me I need to upgrade my internet service provider. Everything else works fine, no slowness noted anywhere else except this platform.
Would you guys consider upgrading? That's just going to cost me $$, especially when I'm already at the bottom of the barrel in pay, and then it may not even help that much... ...
I am just curious as to why some choose to Dislike a post when it is another just voicing an opinion, venting or just asking a question. To me this is a place to communicate with other transcriptionists since most of us work at home and others in our lives really don't understand what we are talking about. I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion and many read the posts. Maybe I should not pay attention to the dislikes, but a lot of times I find ...
I am sure I will get it soon, but for right now I am looking through my time card because we have to approve them soon and I am like "What in the world is going on?" I assume it is right though. ...
1. Low pay.
2. Fiesa with no rhyme or reason for scores.
3. Too many managers/mini managers with rambling corporate speak emails.
4. Rambling client specifics on different accounts all subject to interpretation.
5. Client specifics not uniform.
6. Spark. People you are told to contact are unavailable. Lists should be alphabetized.
7. Incompetent support staff.
8. Bad VR which does not learn through correction. Same mistakes over ...
Information gets thrown at you through training, and it doesn't all absorb right away, and you don't know what you're doing for a while. i hate that feeling of not being confident working with the software.
I've had jobs where all you had to do was look at a list, match it to the patient, and type. (or jobs where very little learning of sofware was involved.). I wish I had a job like that again. Added to the annoyance are the IM programs, punching webclocks, special e-mail p ...
Needing a general consensus on whether or not you like the DQS platform...what about it's ASR generated reports.
I personally like the platform and think the ASR reports aren't as bad as some platforms I have been on...I just hate the rate of ASR pay. Though it is estimated the production increases with ASR, for most, that simply is not the case and, per a study I found online, quite the opposite. Please see results from that independent study below.

In your experience, which platform would you recommend an IC/MT suggest a physician's office utilize? This would be probably for four docs per office or less and one to four MTs. I am hoping to "sell" some local private doctor offices with this form of EMR so it may save my current small job and also allow me to obtain more work. Also, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to "sell" this idea to them.
Thank you for any help you may be able to share with me. ...
Small and independent and was wanting some opinions/information on the best platform to use. I am currently using one now but was curious about webchart, chartnet, and scribemanager. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ...
Was wondering what platform this company uses, does anyone know? It is Inscribe out of Kentucky. I've talked with two different people at the company and they are saying they don't know what platform they use. However, a Dictaphone 15-pin foot pedal is required, so would that be ExText? Thanks in advance.... ...
Anyone like dictaphone for VR, or prefer Escription? What is the average lines per hour anyone makes with either platform? I am relatively new with VR and need to know if it is really worth the 0.4 cpl? I was told 400-600 lines an hour will probably be my average, closer to the 600 ...
Do any of you have experience with the WinScribe platform for typing? I'm trying to make sure it is easy to use and that MTs can be productive on it.
Thank you. ...
if a platform is productive or not. They told me that all their accounts now use their own platform called "MD-IT" Do we enter demos. I guess it depends on the account. Do we get paid for them if so? Thanks guys ...
