The Edit/Delete option only allows one to Edit a post. The option to Delete one's own post is not available.

Is this a permanent thing? Or mabye part of the backup/lost post issue? Will the Delete option be restored?

Then if you typed something and a few other posters were negative, you could delete your post to stop the negativity.

Wish we had it back.

People would say stupid obnoxious things and then when they got called on it, they would delete their original post. If someone is really afraid that people are going to respond negatively to their posts, perhaps they ought to reconsider posting at all. There are some heavily moderate boards for various subjects where every post must be approved by a moderator before they even make it onto the board; perhaps those squeamish few would be best served on one like that.

maybe it is not that I thought someone would respond negatively, maybe some was acusing me of being a suit or something similar and then 3 or 4 more people jump in and it gets out of hand.

How was I to know what I posted would turn into me being acused of being a suit?

Also, I do think somepeople would fire of a nasty post and then think about and say, ugh.. I should not have said that.. and then want to delete it. Yes, maybe they should not have said it in the first place, but with all the stress from the economy, low pay, now work, working 2 or more jobs.. well, sometimes things boil over.

Im not squeamish, by the way.

God knows I've had enough of my posts go bye-bye. And if you've been here long enough, you know exactly how people are going to respond to what you want to say, suit-wise or anything else. If you (in a figurative sense) post that someone else is nuts because their experience doesn't mirror yours, then you can expect to be called a suit. I've been able to say a few nice things about one of the most reviled companies and managed to do so without coming across as a suit. Again, if people accusing you of being a suit bothers you that much that you would find it necessary to delete a post, perhaps you shouldn't make that posting in the first place.

Nope, it doesn't. And, proving the point, the fact that you don't like them doesn't make me want to go back and delete my prior post. I stand by what I say. And if you think that post was harsh and demeaning, you really must not spend a lot of time on this board, or any other one for that matter. For the record, I don't think I'll be losing any sleep over not knowing you personally, either.

When posting a response to the OP, it could come directly under their post and not go to the bottom of the postings in that particular list? When a new post comes in, could it be highlighted at the top of the page like it was before? I think people actually like seeing those there so if of interest they can respond then. I know I did. We will not be creating a new board for "positive posts only." You have the choice as to what posts you want to read. If a post is too negative for you, simply do not read it. Everyone has a right to their opinion. I will continue to monitor for foul language, name calling, etc., but will not be trying to decipher what is too positive or too negative for your liking. ...

I'm not sure where to post this... The resume bank is a great resource, but I wish it was a little more flexible. For example, the section where you describe what kind of work you're looking for is restricted to choices on the drop-down menu. Some of us wear different hats and are looking for IC work if we can get it and/or an employee position if it's a good one. So multiple choices or even free text might be more suitable.
