Does anyone have to use a time clock where after you have entered your daily line counts it makes you sit and wait 3 minutes before you can clock out?

I asked the supervisor - no response.

Don't complain about anything, they will start looking at you as a complainer and start making a case against you without you even knowing it. Yes, they will.
It will all make sense later.

You can sign in and out without any problems, but they want you to log your current lines count when finished. This requires entering the program, entering lines, and then sitting there for 3 minutes waiting to sign out before you can do anything. It's a real pain, not to mention illegal to require us to work with no pay. This adds up to 12 hours a year unpaid.

do you sweat the time it takes you to turn on the computer, pull up your expander, dictionary, or any other transription aids you might be using, log on and open a voice file?

No offense but if 3 minutes a day bother you that much, you're probably in for rough times at this profession. I hear in-house transcriptionists get paid hourly, that might be something to look into in your area.

Would it bother you to be required to put in one more hour per month of uncompensated time? No? Then you've got a lot more free time on your hands than I do.

I mean, I'm really not exactly the type to be on my death bed thinking about all that time wasted going to the bathroom.

It is the same amount of time as your shut-down. Ridiculous complaint with all the 'real' problems in this profession.

Will it sign you out automatically after a period - of inactivity?

For instance, sign in, log your lines, save the page, and then just leave the screen open. Most sites like that will log you out after a period of inactivity. If that's the case, then I'd do that and go on to other things and forget about it.

It has been inconvenient, and maybe a bit confusing at times, to check my time card hours for my shift as, because of my time zone, part of my hours show up on the next day because I work 2nd shift. I wonder if I will get overtime for yesterday, even though I did not work overtime. Ever since they have changed Schedule Source and now it has a display called today's activity with "actuals" hours, this has not matched the hours shown with the time clock punches and is less than the hours according to the clock punch. Does anyone care to share that if you are hired at optiscript part time will they let you change to full time easily? I know they are a small company and do not over hire so I do not know how easily this could be done. My company was honest and upfront when we started using ChartNet. They told us that once you enter a report for VR, the time clock does not actually start for 60 seconds.
