RMT test - TJ

Could someone advise me about taking the RMT test? Has anyone taken it? Would you take it first, then CMT after this? I am not sure about this. Thank you. I have been an MT for many many years, but feel I need to do this if I want to go independent.

[ In Reply To ..]I took the RMT. Basically didn't actually study for it; just took it with what I felt was my current knowledge (18 years transcribing) -- and I passed. If you do want to proceed to the CMT level, I would take the RMT first. It gives you an idea of what to expect. As far as I'm concerned, take any advantage you can legally get!

I have many years experience like you, but felt with the way things are going I needed to get some other credentials esp if I want to do independent contract work. Again, Thank you.

[ In Reply To ..]I believe you now have to take and pass the RMT before you can take the CMT. I think you can schedule both tests one right after the other though.
