Need help with resume for MT with 15 years experience. Lost the last one I did 5 years ago and not liking the samples I have found. With listing each company worked for would you put description of what was done at each or could you make section for companies worked for and then make a separate section with experience on different specialties, etc. Just want to keep it to straight forward and to the point. Thanks

I list each company and list my duties under each one.
Not sure where you have worked, but where I worked, there were buy-outs, name changes, etc., so I simply put "Such-and-Such (formerly [whatever]).
I kept mine at one hard page in case I needed a hard copy.
I did not put my references on there, but did manage to squeeze in "references availablle upon request."
P.S. - Forgot to mention...

As to specialties, I did all hospital and clinic specialties, so I put "hospital transcription, multiple specialties." That covers clinic, because if you can do hospital, you can do clinic.
If you only have clinic, but in multiple specialties, you could put "clinic transcription, multiple specialities."
If you have done surgeries in one or more specialty, be sure to list that you do surgeries, then [whatever speciality, or multiple specialties].
Hope this helps.

What Should I Put On Medical Transcription Resume Oct 17, 2011I am a fairlly new graduate. I got a job right away, worked there for 3 months, and turned in my resignation last week. From the beginning there was no training, little communication and very little work. I did have my share of mistakes also. I'm now looking for another job. Should I put this job on my resume? I have no other transcription jobs on there and to me 3 months somewhere is better than no jobs. But I don't think they'll give me a good reference if they're contacted ...

Medical Transcriptionist Resume Help Aug 30, 2010I would really appreciate any help you are willing to give me.
I have not been having much luck finding a job and am getting desperate. I am wondering if my Resume may be putting me at the bottom instead of at the top of the contact list. I have over 30 years of experience and my resume contains the names of 15 companies that I have worked for (I sometimes had 2 or 3 jobs at one time, but I include everyone because some were Acute Care and others were Clinic Specialties).

Medical Transcriptionist Updating Resume ... Apr 11, 2011I am updating my resume, and I am wondering if I should include Acute Care experience.
I do multi-specialty clinic work and H&Ps, Discharge Summaries, Consults, etc. for various Veteran's Administration hospitals and clinics.
I would like to say I do Acute Care on my resume to beef it up, but because it is for the Veteran's Administration, the Acute Care reports are usually for things typically related to older patients. No trauma-related stuff, only minor surgical procedures.

Medical Transcription At Home To Become A Medical Scribe? Jan 20, 2015Has anybody left medical transcription at home to become a medical scribe? I have an opportunity to do so but there aren't any scribes currently in my area and I don't know anyone who has worked as a scribe before. The scribe position starting pay is almost double what I make as an MT per hour so it is very tempting, I just don't know much about it. ...

For Those Who Need A Resume Or A Resume Facelift Sep 04, 2013I'm looking to get out of my job in a bad way and my resume was less than pretty. I ran across this site and it was awesome. It's free to update your resume but charges to print or email, copy, etc. But for a cover letter and resume was only $2.95 but will auto-renew at $34 if you don't cancel within 2 weeks. But I did the trial period and got an awesome resume and fantastic cover letter. It's easy to use and fun. Hope this helps a little bit.

Offshore Transcription Stories Wanted- Medical Malpractice Cases Related To Offshore Transcription M Oct 15, 2009A legal contact was inquiring about the connection of medical mistakes related to off-shored transcription mistakes. Non-medical Transcription? Dec 08, 2012I'm a 2011 MT grad who posted not long ago looking for advice. While googling MT companies to apply to, I found some non-medical transcription services, namely one that transcribes dialogue from a video for production/entertainment companies. Since MT is practically a dead-end career, I've been trying to come up with ther ways to utilize my ...

Thank You Medical Transcription Aug 23, 2013I quit a job a dozen years ago to jump into the "Work At Home" dream. I had little money, was quite naive, worked from dark to dark with absolutely no help from the small MTSO, who later ripped me off $5,000. BUT, I learned.
