I'm guessing a bad sign? Or maybe they just - want to get rid of me...

Would rather not say which company, but I am in my initial training period and the lack of support is like nothing I have ever encountered before! I am not a new MT and I am not a job hopper. In fact, I've been called a suit on here because of my enthusiasm for this line of work.
My edited reports look like somebody slashed their wrists and bled all over them. There is either no explanation for the error or cryptic comments that make no sense. Errors are inconsistently flagged. Emails go unanswered. Nobody is on IM to ask questions. This is not paid training, by the way. Already I'm thinking I made a terrible mistake. Is it just me?!? Advice?
Sounds exactly like an experience I had at Transcend - a few years ago. Someone else posting

above is also having a serious training problem. In my case, the inconsistency was enormous, without rhyme or reason, account specs incorrectly cited so the correct way was "wrong," my questions to elucidate answered with claims of new, different mistakes, changing the attack Joseph McCarthy style. It was clearly abusive, the opposite of training.
My new account manager, whom I hadn't spoken with yet, didn't return my call. Eventually I was passed, that's all I can say, and that was the last I saw of that horrible person. The account manager turned out to be okay once she decided I was going to work out. I learned from others' stories, BTW, that that QA, who should have been fired the first time she tried this stuff, was still there at least 2 years after I left.
In any case, hopefully this will all work out for you if you just keep paddling. Actually, I'm wondering if humbling yourself would appease your person sufficiently. Like dealing with an overly aggressive police officer. If you feel you're going to be finished off, though, how about going to the recruiter or HR department to explain what's happening? The company's invested money bringing you this far. It should care. Good luck.

Guessing Mar 07, 2010All this talk about guessing is not to the point. Even if you do not guess, you are going to make mistakes - we all do. Some of the worst and fastest dictation I get is for the lab data and drugs and dosages which should be the most careful part of the dictation. The responsibility to see that these values are correct in the medical record belongs to the doctor, not to us. ...
VR Is GUESSING May 02, 2012It really grinds me that we're told repeatedly not to GUESS in order to make the sentences "make sense." Yet, that's exactly what VR on M*Modal does! Adds words that were never said, takes out important verbs and (God forbid! an article!). I spend more time taking out commas that are substituted for "and." This VR program not only edits, it MAKES WORDS UP! So now, we have to edit the lousy dictators and the In-*******-Credible VR too. Only 2 more yea ...

MLS Are Guessing Rather Than Leaving Blanks.. Jul 10, 2013Just was notified by my TSM that an account isn't happy. They feel the MLS are guessing and they have found errors to prove it. Someone needs to let these clients know how Nuance is enticing some MLS to guess. They would surely reconsider outsourcing their work and maybe this is the start of hospitals hiring their own MLS again. Wouldn't that be wonderful?! ...

ORTHO HELP: Negative [s/l Fair] Sign, Negative Fabere Sign? Jun 02, 2012OK.....
It's an orthopedic chart note. Patient has a chief complaint of hip pain.
Dictated: He has a negative [s/l fair, fairs, varus?] sign, a negative fabere sign.
It doesn't sound like fadir; I'm not hearing that "d." I already had to leave two medication blanks and hate to leave another one for an orthopedic sign that I feel like I should know!
Thank you in advance for your help and ideas!

Is This A Sign? Oct 15, 2010The other evening at the grocery store, I picked up the newest issue of Employment Guide. You've probably seen it - it's usually by the doors to the store, and it's a nationwide publication. It used to list actual job openings for the local area. Now, though, it seems to be mainly an ad newspaper for schools offering career training. Anyway, what struck me about this issue is that none of the schools that have always advertised in this paper list medical transc ...
