Foot pedal equivalent controlled by hand - Technically challenged

I just learned I need to have surgery on BOTH knees and will be disabled for a while.

I wonder if there is any equivalent to the foot pedal controlled in another way?

Many years ago I broke my leg and was casted and my boss set me up with a hand control. That was before all of this new-fangled stuff came out, but I am telling you this because I do know that they do exist. Have you tried contacting transcriptiongear.com? If they do not have what you need, they could maybe refer you. They have been very helpful with me in the past. BTW, good luck with your surgery.

but, depending on what you're using, you may already be able to do it. Try the F keys. I use Express Scribe, and the F keys on top allow you to play, rewind, and fast forward. It's worth a try before you invest any cash into buying something.

I'm over testing for the Q on their test site and thought I had installed my foot pedal but it's not working. Does anyone know how to use your foot pedal on the test rather than that silly F1 function key to start and stop the audio? Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with my foot pedal? While I am working, sometimes when I lift up my foot to stop the dictation, it keeps playing like the pedal is stuck or something. Hello:) I just got a new computer and was in the process of moving my foot pedal over to it, and to my shock, there is no outlet in the back of the new one that is compatible with my old foot pedal, which is a DB9 outlet, there are only USB ports back there.
