I want to share my comments about DIRTY POSTs on MTStars. I was just informed about such post about Ascend Healthcare. I have worked for this company since 2000. Some honest clarification would help. Their MT rates are $0.075 [750 lines per shift], $0.085 per lines [1,000 lines per shift] and $0.12 per line for very special MTs. They pay $0.04/$0.06 per line for editing. They pay $0.8 per RAD VR report editing and $0.035 for VR transcription. Their hourly rates are in the range of $10 - $14. They only recruit people as they are needed so that proper work load is available. They offer W2 and 1099 positions strictly based on DOL rules. Their wages are paid per fixed schedule every 15 days. They are audited every two years by DOL and there are no missing, late or unpaid complaints against them for past 7 years per DOL. One may post all the complaints. MTStars for freedom of expression allows such post without any proof. I enjoy being at Ascend and I suggest if you have a need please try it. Nancy

Radiology report rates are set based on client pricing model. The general trend in radiology is not by line but by per report. We handle transcription using our platform with upload to client system, direct transcription on client system such as Keane and VR edit on platform such as Power Scribe. The processing rates are set based on the environment and client billing model.

[ In Reply To ..]I've worked Radiology for over 20 years and have never worked for per report pay, and interestingly, I still make above what you pay for your acute/critical care reports. However, maybe I've been lucky or maybe it's a change in trend. Regardless, it's a huge difference from the OPs glowing report.

According to the job posting this company is based in San Francisco. The stated pay rate averages $241.00 per month. If I were this company, I would embarrassed to advertise the pathetic pay they give their MTs in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Became even more excited when I read that it was owned by a former transcriptionist and then it hit, pay will start at 7-8 CPL, depending upon experience and oh, hey, all of our transcriptionists are ICs.
