Would you do Career Step, Andrews, or my city has a community college that has a coding certification program offered completely on-line.

Hi,

First of all I would recommend that you read a _lot_ about the whole coding/billing system. The CMS website is absolutely excellent and loaded with very technical but precious informations. You will probably get a reliable opinion on coding schools along the way.

You cannot expect to learn everything from a school or a university, the best is to do some homework by yourself, without letting you get overwhelmed by the mass of information.

I am just wondering if this schooling has all been worth it. I am not seeing alot of happy people on this site. I have been a graduate of medical in 1986 and since gone on to manicuring for the sake of flexible schedule while my child was in latter years of school. Just wondering, does anyone know if I can work as a MT if I do not complete my schooling? I have about a month and a half of MT schooling left and I was wondering if I can do MT work? I have finished schooling for the ICD9, and am getting ready to start an adjunct ICD10 class. The AHIMA is changing the test to ICD10 at the end of April. I wonder if there will be any ICD9 on there at all. Also, for the coders out there that have trained with the ICD10, do you find it will be a better system than ICD9? I am excited to learn it.
