You see? Coding is a good field. Those are the kind of jobs we have been talking about.

Get that CCS.

Have you looked at the ads on the AHIMA website? - Wondering

You should. They will show you where you can go with this.

Regular online job sites aren't that good for professional jobs. You really need to go to the professional organization websites for that.

I wasn't officially job hunting. Basically, I didn't want to study that night, so I took some time to search for neat jobs in order to motivate myself. It worked. Taking some time to daydream and fantasize about how much better my life will be usually gets me back on track.

I do have a question though, is there a problem with the job I posted? I had never seen a job with a 10K sign-on bonus before, so I thought I'd share.

Also, I didn't quite understand why you said "They will show you where you can go with this." I don't want to misinterpret your intent. I do have a rough idea of my career path/goals, but like I said, I'm still a student -- gotta cross that hurdle first. =]

What that meant - ???

No, there is nothing wrong with that job. Why would you think that?

"Where you can go with this" means that there are career opportunities into which you can advance from coding. They pay well. If you look at the jobs on a more professional website you will see them. That's all...no criticism, no innuendo, no hidden meaning. Just lots of great jobs out there for coders.

Thank you - still just a student

I wasn't completely sure where you were going with it, so I thought I'd ask, and now I know for sure, and thank you for your advice... I would rather ask and look silly than react and look like an idiot =]

I haven't looked on the AHIMA site yet since I'm not ready to officially job search yet, but I will for sure when the time comes.

I think I would eventually like to get into compliance or auditing or something like that, or some kind of teaching role. I'd like a career that I can grow, and avoid being pigeon-holed. =]
