Any info on Hypertype?

Original owner was good to work for. He sold to his office manager some time ago. She knows how to manipulate the system. Beware that line counts may not be accurate. Your mileage may vary. They tend to employ mostly people located near their office, no idea why that is.

I have a phone interview with them tomorrow. I am looking for part-time, but it doesn't sound encouraging if line counts are not accurate.

This was not in the last couple of years. Previously their platform was dos based, then went to windows. That was when they were tweaking the system and unable to explain why the deliberate multiple tweaking had affected the line counts. If they would do this with my full knowledge, then I questioned what could be reconfigured without my knowledge.

Just be sure you know what you get paid for, how you get paid for it, and can you run an independent program to calculate this yourself.

I will say that I made decent money per hour on the accounts I was assigned to.

See what platform they are using, what account they are hiring for, how much work that account has available, what work types that account has. It never hurts to check out any company. What doesn't work for one MT does for another. We all have different needs and priorities to deal with.

I would suggest you keep whatever job you have and give any new company a trial of about 3 months before dropping the first job. It sometimes takes that long to get fully started with a new company or get up to speed (some people say this, I don't think this is the case), or to fully get a grasp on whether the company is a good fit or not.

I have been there part time since June. Other than low pay, I have found it to be a nice place to work. Not stressful. they are using the medrite program now. I think they have 1 really big dictaphone account now that is supposedly changing over to medrite.

I have found no line discrepancies and pay has always been on time. I just wish the pay were better. I would move full time with them if it was.

So what is that mysterious and nondescript $10 - "licensing fee" all about?

The thread above would make me leery of even e-mailing this company, let alone actually working for them.

It sounds more like a Nigerian money-scam than an actual job.

My current CCM is one of the best of the many I've had. I had previously worked with her on this account from1999 until we were sold to MQ in 2005; she is my 6th or 7th CCM here at MedQuist.
