Urine drug screen/PC?? - speedtyper18

does the big MTSOs require a urine drug screen and supply equipment? I am concerned. I just spoke to a smaller company, and they want me to pay for the drug screen and pay a deposit for the PC! Maybe I should go back to the bigger companies!!!

That indicates fraud in my opinion. Too many other legitimate COs out there to waste time on that. IMO

Regardless, they are certainly NOT being fraudulent. If it's a contractor position, it's not only not fraudulent but right for them to have you pay for both.

BTW- I've done this for 35 years and never had to do a drug test.

If it's an IC position, why should the MTSO incur the cost? It's part of doing business with that particular MT and you write it off.

With the state of the economy and many people's attitudes, if I were issuing a computer to someone, I'd sure as heck be charging a deposit. I was an MTSO. I know how hard it is to get SOME MTs to send their equipment back, etc. If there's a deposit, at least there's a bit of an incentive to get your deposit back. Frankly, I wouldnt provide equipment today.

Now if its an employee position, deposit still stands, but I think the MTSO should foot the bill for the drug test.

Understanding that the economy is in turmoil right now I still happen to disagree that a company that charges a job applicant to do drug screen and for a computer would be a company worth working for.

Diskriter requires a drug screen BUT they pay for it - Dont know about deposit for PC though

Diskriter requires a drug screen but they provide all the paperwork for you to give the testing facility about where to send the bill, etc. No money out of pocket for you at all.

I don't know about the PC deposit though. I've never had a company ask for this, even though I've worked for several MTSOs that did supply the computer. That sounds odd to me. Do they refund your deposit after the probation period?
