A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
--they're not receiving responses from "peeps" (are you kidding me?) who want to work for 6-7 cents a line as an IC.
LOL. I should hope not.
This is the one in West Virginia. There is also an Oncall Transcription in Wisconsin.
They do not say how often they pay. This could be another one of those “you get paid, when we get paid” --- translation: Don’t hold your breath, you might be paid in 6 months.
Be cautious and do not type anything until you have the contract you want.
Not impressed with Website.

Actually, your job post was the catalyst for all the speculation. A PROFESSIONAL job ad would have alleviated a lot of concern from weary Medical Transcriptionists who have been burned before. Using words like “peeps” and “shocked” may sound folksy if your purpose was to make us think you are “just one of the gals/guys,” but WE are looking to work for a company that is professional and does not jerk us around. We need a steady income, and an income that we can count on to receive on a regular schedule. Sure, there are a few of us who have significant others who can pay the bills until we receive a check, but I would guess that 90% of us are the sole breadwinner. In your job ad, you did not mention when we will be paid, if there is direct deposit, or even if there is special equipment required for your account. These are things a professional job ad would include. Give us facts, and there will be no need for speculation.
Also your statement “You will need to start today,” may have prevented a significant number of MTs from Emailing you. The time stamp on the post was 3:17 pm, and your statement makes it sound as if TODAY is the only day available to begin working. Again, had you taken the time to put together a professional job ad, you would have gotten more responses and less speculation.
You then proceeded to rebuke us for “not knowing you.” Well, duh!!! BE PROFESSIONAL and we might have a better understanding of your position. Even your reply post speaks volumes. Your slip. Your comment that you pay timely “usually it works out to be every two weeks,” says it all. USUALLY does not pay the mortgage on the first of the month. USUALLY does not pay the electric bill when they are threatening to disconnect. USUALLY does not put milk and dinner on the kitchen table for the children. When you started your business and your clients did not pay you on time; when you went to the bank to make a payment on your loan that was due, how did it go over when you told them “Sorry, I USUALLY get paid every two weeks.” Did the bank say, “Oh no problem, we will not charge you a late fee, because you usually pay on time?”
There have been too many posts on MTStars about this type of “you get paid when I get paid” company who string the MTs along for months. Most of us cannot wait months. We cannot even wait days sometimes. We need a firm schedule of pay dates in order to budget. We are all very well aware that “this industry is getting tighter and tighter;” however, you seem to be unaware that MT’s pocketbooks are also getting tighter and tighter. Many MTs have already left the industry because they cannot make a living wage. Many have been subsidized by company paid “minimum wages” because there is not enough work for them to make at least that on their own. Do you REALLY think everyone who posts on MTStars has nothing better to do, and that we all get our jollies out of complaining about anything and everything? For every one person who actually takes the time to post on this Board, there are probably ten who sit in silence because they are afraid of losing their job. Silence does not mean acceptance. There are just more people on this Board who are willing to voice our disappointment in the Medical Transcription profession than people like you are willing to accept. We cannot work for free, and we are willing to express that as fact.
Had you been a little more professional in your original post and a little more informative, you probably would have gotten the number of responses that you initially expected. That is your fault, not ours.
I am sure that by now you have hired your “peeps” and they are busy typing away being good little minions. I am happy for them that they were able to find a position so quickly. I also will give you the benefit of the doubt that two months from now those same “peeps” will not be back on this Board complaining that it has been a month and they have not gotten paid yet by you.
Good luck to you and your business. Hope you all have many years of prosperity.
