yourselves lucky! Yes lucky! I've been reading all these posts for a while. I like you was concerned when the T account went from win to NJA. I've had my own accounts before having owned my own company and sometimes you have to add more MTs to an account as you made your client a promise to deliver in time. When it got close to Thanksgiving, Christmas time and we were almost always out of TAT, warnings were sent. Shopping, Holidays, gatherings were more important. The company had no choice but to hire more MTs to keep in TAT. Still even with having NJA mostly during the week, we are out of TAT on the weekend and on a pay date. NO I am not management with OTI.
I'll tell you who I am. I am a person who was comfy in a job of 15 years until 2 years ago when my MTSO lost an account to India and there I was lost. I went to a company as an "employee" but was not given hours, the platform was OMG! You saw every single job in the system and even tho you were suppose to pick the latest one first, they didn't. There were times when someone would even take your job! It was horrible. QA, QA, QA - you missed a comma, it is follow up not followup, evulsion/avulsion. I then went with another smaller company. Oh it was wonderful! I loved it. Had lots of work. It then got sold to M*Modal (the warning signs were all of a sudden QA% and QA quality). A living nightmare then set it. I stuck it out with M*Modal as long as I could. I had work -- at first. I had 3 accounts, then 2 accounts, then 1 account, then NJA. Constant QA ALL DAY LONG! Surveys, conferences on line, studying all that I did not get paid for. I finally could not support my family. I had to find something else.
So then I went with 2 other companies. "Company A" and OTI. Company A was bad. It's a semicolon, not a comma. You cap this, you don't cap that. On top of 100% ESL, they had a monitor on my computer to this day I cannot remove, even though I was an independent contractor. It took me forever and a day to get out of QA. Unlike OTI where I was out of QA in about a week or less. I left them after being there for 3 months and dedicate my time to OTI. I have a friend who joined at the same time, is still there and stresses everyday. She has to have a QA% and QA quality every month and has yet to make a decent living.
Come on you MTs! Don't bash a good, good company. You don't know how good you have it until you yourself have to go back into the trenches. They gave us the job and we gave them a commitment, but some don't keep it! We committed to producing quality work at X-number of lines per day. Some do, some don't. We are not QA'd to death. We don't get QA% every month or QA quality every month. They don't call us on commas, sentence structure, etc. Yes! We do get e-mails on ADT (wrong ADT is a severe violation of HIPAA), yes we get them on formatting and too many blanks. On top of all that my pay has never been late, never short (sometimes more than what I thought) and always paid unlike some.
Time for the bashing to stop! Sign me off as a very happy OTI IC MT and loving it!
