OTI WORK DEMISE CLUE - CSI

Posted: Mar 05, 2014

Here is what I have noticed: Those familiar with the T account know there are 3 facilities. C, VR and H, in order of size. The CER used to be the biggest component. Since 02/26/2014, almost a week, despite working literally all hours of the day and night, I have not typed a single CER report. There is one dictator, BB, who mistakenly codes her reports as CER but they are actually HER reports. So the biggest facility on OTI's biggest account is apparently gone.

That explains why there is no work in the middle of the night and weekends. I sure have enjoyed working at OTI.

But the questions remain, why do the sisters or the A's not tell anyone? sm - Starving OTIer

I am fed up with being told it is just slow, it is the weather, etc. Why not just be honest with everyone? It shows such little respect for those of us who have worked and cared for the account for so long.

did you all get the e-mail this morning re doing a particular OP note right - I replied back and said I never have got an OP note, can they be routed to me? I was told they aren't hiring for those right now! Does anybody else on T-acct. get these and other OPS? Just wondering.

OP notes - Another OTI MT

I'm not sure what the question is... I've been doing all worktypes on the T account since I came on several years ago including operative reports.

I have never in my career of 30 years ever been hired or requested to do just one work type.

I was not hired for just operative reports but all work types. Hope this response helps.

Seems a bit egocentric to think that your situation is the same as everyone else's. sm - Yet another OTIer

I have been an MT for almost 40 years and there have been numerous times I was hired just to do ops, or just do H&P's and consults, etc. In the case of OTI and the T account, I do ERs, PNs, and psych notes. I get the occasional H&P when it is a stat, never ops. I just assumed they put me where they needed me. In this case, it seems I won't be needed anywhere. I have loved OTI, but I can't live on fresh air and sunshine.

You should change the title of your post - it is misleading

What you are talking about is OTI losing one of their accounts. So, it would not be the demise of OTI, but rather the demise of one of OTI's accounts.

Companies have accounts coming and going all the time.

Okay, I inserted the word work. OTI is not in demise. Only the people who can no longer pay their bills.

The Demise Of Diskriter
Feb 11, 2012

As a long time MT at DR, I find the undoing of Diskriter to be most upsetting.  Anyone else have any thoughts?  People have left in great numbers and continue to leave.  Global has taken all but a small amount of our work in TR....and those in management could care less about us.  I am moving on, but just wondered if others have had this experience?   ...

SR/VR - The Demise Of The English Language
Nov 10, 2012

Once facilities start using VR/SR or having a physician use Dragon/canned reports, they should realize that as long as a report is "medically correct" (i.e., the correct spelling of a medical word) that is as good as the report should be.  Does anybody really think Dr. Jones is going to make a complete coherent sentence as he is dictating; or, Dr. Shaleplcakeeoa (made up name) is going to make a sentence that makes sense in English versus his own interpretation of the English language?  ...

HEY MTSO - GET A CLUE.
Mar 21, 2012

We all know you don't give a rat's ass but here it goes;  Pay us a decent wage for BOTH typing and editing with decent benefits.  At least 8 cpl both both instead of that crappy 4 cpl for editing.  With a decent wage, your employees would be happier.  They'd quit bitchin about your company.  They'd quit hopping from company to company.   They'd work harder at producing.  They'd turn out quality reports, not having to worry ab ...

Anyone Have A Clue How To Contact A Recruiter?? LOL
Apr 04, 2014

I have applied to Nuance, and already went thru the online process. Also had friends at N submit my resume.  I got a voice mail from a "Colleen" at Nuance today, saying she has my resume, but I have to complete some "Assessment", which she has emailed to me, as far as links to follow.  Well, no email from anyone, and when I called back the phone # on caller ID, it is Transcend, and there is no option to speak with anyone.  Is this a red flag?  LOL Don't answer that.  ...

Do The Clients Even Have A Clue How Badly They Have Been Ripped Off By ASR?
Aug 14, 2013

Or do they think they can continue to put garbage in and get back a perfect report by the magic of this "wonderful technology."  Do they even know what type of trash it is producing??The first thing these developers did to rip off the health care providers was to tell them that they could simply dictate and it automatically would become patient record with no transcriptionist involved.  We knew that 99% of doctors would never change their style to meet the requirements to dictate accur ...
