Does KS pay for spaces, etc? Any info is appreciated good, bad or ugly. TIA!

You only do this every couple of days to start a thread. Just move on. My experience was not great with KS and several other nationals but that is the way the industry has turned. Just get on with your life and let others do the same. There are no secrets. If you want information, look in the archives. Some are happy, some are not.

What the heck are you talkig about? I honestly wanted current info, I checked the archives. No wonder your experience was not great at KS with your attitude. Nobody was trying to start anything, why did you bother to answer at all.

There are new KS threads posted regular.ly here, probably at least one a week.

How "current" is current for you? Is last week's information already obsolete in your view?

Just about everything that can and could be said about KS has already been addressed.

My advice is STAY AWAY from there unless you enjoy being broke.

I made more money last year than the year before, and have had that happen every year that I have worked for Keystrokes. It is not an insignificant amount, more than I made with other nationals and more than I made in house.

There are people who have had great experiences with KS and people who have had bad experiences with KS. Those who have had bad experiences just try to run everyone over who has had a good experience, as if only their opinion matters.

Like other large nationals, Keystrokes has hundreds of employees and some are happy, some are not. The unhappy ones usually move on, but they continue to post here over and over again. Many have been there for a long time, and many new employees will stay a long time. They are not perfect, but they are better, IMO, than the others out there.

Thanks for your reply. I have accepted a position with KS moving from another MTSO. I decided to take a chance. As you say some are happy, some are not. I believe if you do your work, keep to your schedule and do the best you can, you will be fine, no matter where you are. Whether there's work or not, that is the industry and if there isn't, I'll move on, but I am giving them a chance. It is 2nd shift, haven't worked it in about 20 years, but you do what you have to do. Thanks for the encouragement.

In February 2011, KS gave its MTs a pay cut. In that message, it was revealed that Unemployment Compensation costs had risen a staggering amount!

WHY do you suppose that is? IF this company is so great and DOES NOT overstaff their accounts, why would their UE comp costs rise so much, hmmmm?

That is one of the reasons that I sold my company and went back to transcribing. You might think that MTSOs make a boatload of money, and some might, but the cost of doing business has gone up while hospitals want to pay less. I wouldn't have employees again for all the accounts in the world; not enough money to make up for the hours or stress.

I don't even work for KS, but it seems that you have one heck of a chip on your shoulder about them. Makes me wonder if you were starved out intentionally.

Just curious, I'm trying to decide between a few companies and I totally forgot to ask the interviewer. I think the whole VBC thing is criminal. It's bad enough not being paid for all of the research, demographics and CCs we do, but to not pay for characters that we actually type just because they don't print out in black and white is OUTRAGEOUS!!! ...

Hey everyone, Just curious about this... I just got a report back from my QA at work, and she dinged me for writing "End stage renal disease" instead of "Endstage renal disease."
