Do you mean K&R consults? How long ago where you affiliated with them?

I thought the work was easy - but the pay was not worth the time put in with VBC.
KNR new ad - old mter

See their newest ad - they list it under Shannon instead of KNR!! We are in this to make a decent wage - don't they have a clue. At the rate they pay - I wouldn't even make minimum wage for my state and I have 30+ years and VA experience! They will lose contracts as I don't see how they are making TAT as they can't keep help.

Don't Give Up On Finding A New Job Dec 30, 2013I have been transcribing for 31 years. Hospital laid us off in 2008, went with our contract provider, then Nuance took over her employees. I have been looking for a job for over a year and finally found one. Starting on Jan. 6, I will be working for a local pathology office doing minimum transcription as well as other things, meaning no more sitting all day long looking at a dumb computer. It is 8-5 M-F. They are starting me out at $13.50 an hr. The only problem I have is Nuance wants me to give ...

Any Other Old ETransPlus People That Have Landed At Transcend That Can Give Advice...sm Dec 17, 2011I am to start training at Transcend on 12/27. I stuck it out with MedQuist until it became obvious that things would not stay "status quo" for much longer. I loved eTrans, and I think they were one of the last MTSOs to treat their MTs more than fairly and provide an income I could actually live comfortably live on.
Any other ex-eTrans people at Transcend now that can give me some feedback on what the transition is like. Specifically, training, speech rec, etc. ...
People Skills For Work-at-home People Nov 01, 2010I have been at home working full time for about a year. I have been an MT longer, but I always had kept a job outside of the home also because I like interaction with other. I have found that I am starting to lose my people skills. Do others have this same problem? It is like I have forgotten how to really be able to hold a conversation with others. This is something that really bothers me as I have always loved customer service and working with people and main ...

Finding Own Clients PLEASE HELP Oct 21, 2009Hi Everyone,
Right now the company I work for hardly has any work. I am thinking about sending out a letter to local clinics and also maybe putting out an ad on craigslist for transcription work. Have you tried this? I have questions:
What things do I have to consider? How do I charge people (I know I can do line count in INstantText and figure out line count and cost)-is 10 CPL a good place to start? Are there other costs I need to factor in? How about tax ...

Finding Another Job Vent Oct 31, 2009
I need to find a new job. The company I'm working for is replacing med transcriptionists with voice recognition and electronic health records. This is not the first time this has happened either, . . it happened at another hospital I worked for. The company's response was "you can go work for the service." Yeah, right, at half the pay. After working at a good in-house hospital job for nine years, I realize how home MTs are so mistreated. And, ...
Still Having Trouble Finding This Jan 30, 2010I have asked this before and got an answer but do not see what was suggested I would be able to see. After I have requested a day off in schedule source, if I go into the "days off" page, where is the approval? I see a yellow box that says "request" but do not see anything about the answer to the request. I also checked my calendar - is there something on the calendar about it? Last time I made a request I found out at the last minute I did indeed have it off, but had not ...

Finding A Job As A New Coder Sep 30, 2011I am an MT considering going to school for coding. I have been reading the message boards of the coding professional organization and found it to be full of comments from new certified coders who can't find jobs without experience, and some have been looking for over a year. I am leaving the MT field after only 6 years due to salaries going into the tank with SR. I think coding would be a good fit for me, but hate to spend thousands of dollars and a year of school time on ...

Is Age A Factor In Not Finding An MT Job? Mar 31, 2014Have any of you had a hard time finding work as an MT because of age discrimination? I have run into this for the very first time this year. I have not worked for a few months because they laid off a lot of MTs at the company I worked for; mainly because they promised something they could not give.
