Beware of post by Jessica Miller on job board. It shows - Me

Transcriptionwave and states is a US company, but email link takes you to Transcriptionlive and has a calculator for transcription 40% "lesser" than US.
I cannot even find a place on there about careers. - The customer care number (sm)

is a cell phone number based in Illinois. It says it's transcription live not transcription wave. Not real sure about this one since there are hardly any details given.
She must have changed the ad - previously said transcriptionlive.com
I googled and there is a website for Transcriptionwave - Op

that is nearly identical to the one for Transcriptionlive. It also includes a calculator to estimate savings before sending work to US.
the address is for an apartment complex - in chicago

I just saw this ad, almost applied for it, but noticed that there are no listings for medical transcription and it is on a medical transcription job board?

I sent in my resume and got an immediate response. She said they pay $40 for an hours worth of dictation and $45, depending on the sound quality. I emailed her back and said I can only for cpl and if she could arrange that, I would be interested. Of course, I won't hear back and I am not interested any longer as that just sent up a red flag to me of what to expect with a company like that.
how could they pay that? - anon

How could they pay that? That is strange, plus they don't give much info on their post.

If I figured right, that would be about 4 cpl. I think an hour of dictation equals about 1000 lines and you can assume that is with a good dictator. These companies think they can offer whatever, because of supply and demand, but hey, it won't fly. I hate it when they try to cloud things over and not be up front. The minute I read that, I knew it was a scam and wasn't for me. Good ole' Jessica is going to have a hard time filling that position and even if she does, it won't last. She should probably advertise in India (which she probably does anyway).

Well, here's my experience with this company. I took the test and was told I did very well and was offered a job. I was sent a vendor agreement but before I could sign it I got an email saying that I would be sent live files to type within 12 hours. This was before I had discussed anything at all about hours required to work per week, turnaround time, etc. etc. Knew nothing about any of this. I wrote back and said I needed to know their rules, etc. and also (in a fit of honesty and frustration with not knowing what to believe and what not to about these companies and wanting to use the feedback on this board as we are MTs here) I said I wanted to make sure I would get paid. After that, I heard absolutely nothing. I find this depressing. The main thing that bothered me is that I got this email saying I would get these files in 12 hours - I have a life going on here. So now I am not sure whether to think my directness put them off OR if they were put off by it because the suspicions voiced here were true - that there's something "not right." I am going into teaching again, which I used to do some years ago so want transcription only part-time, but it seems almost impossible to find a PT transcription job I feel good about - or even one I can communicate adequately with. How else can we find out things about these remote employers unless we ask??!! Any comments welcome.
She claims the voice files are half as long as what they actually are, saying your express scribe is off. No way. 15 minute file took an hour to type. She said it was an 8 min file. Okay so I got ripped off.

I posted on the Job Wanted Board. This morning I received an E-mail from "Ravindran" which said the following: i can help u, contact me. This smells fishy to me, and replied that the response was "very unprofessional". India, maybe? ...
Be careful of responding to the post by Mike Witkowski - a few years back he pulled this same type of thing with needing transcriptionists "right away" - the whole process was very shady and then he tells you that you don't meet his "requirements" after you transcribe a test.....just a head's up. ...
As you can see, I have pasted a post below that needs clarification from someone, owners of this board, I suspect. The subject of how is above my pay grade.
My point in posting, however, is that none of us should be fearful that Nuance stooges are watching or even that they might be able to "ping" to see who posted. We have a right to express our opinion in the land of free speech. If anyone of us faces by whatever means any retalitatory action, then I'll be the fir ...
Why is there a post on the Job Seekers Board with no company name? Also, you can reply by email, but the name is still undisclosed. I thought that was not allowed. Who would send a resume to some unknown person/company?

just want to know what's up with that job post on the job board. I've sent my resume twice and came back as undeliverable. I got so excited because I have experience with PMs. Now I'm disappointed. Any thoughts?- tx, nw ...
And that's sad, because from what I can see, it's one of the few active medical coding boards on the Internet. There is a person or a few people on this board (I've been reading here for a long time) that almost always find a way to insult and talk down to posters, no matter what the situation. You can tell that it's the same person/people because they have the same posting style. It's to the point where I cringe every that that poster/posters answer my questions because ...

This is quite the eye opener and may explain why a lot of us are running out of work. Part of the problem is the complete mismanagement by TSMs and COMs, but the overall issue may be that EPIC is growing by leaps and bounds. It does not bode well for us MLSs. ...
I read with interest the article contained in the post on the main board because it occurred to me that this is the only industry I know where as an employee, for most companies today, Nuance not excepted, you accept a job and then you, the employee, provide your own equipment, you pay the expense to have your computer repaired and when it is down you are not paid for the downtime, you pay your ISP internet charges (which can be costly if you are running extra turbo charged service to meet minim ...
