Applying with Webmedex for radiology position...looking for info (sm) - hopeful

I am looking for information about enough work with Webmedex radiology, type of platform, difficulty with platform, access to more than one account, and how difficult it is to obtain your lines. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Enterprise rad is my platform. My pay has been slashed to half of what it was 6 months ago. I can look forward to get getting slashed in half again with the advent of ASR. Most of my team got laid off 4 months ago. They have us crosstrain on all accounts (if you have only one you will ALWAYS be out of work)so you get stats from different accounts all day, and keeping all the account specs straight slows you down. Some of the ESL is pretty bad. I used to make 2k lines a day, now I can barely make 1k lines. It is not a happy place to be, and I've been trying to get out for months now and can't find anything else.

Does WebMedX give you out of work pay when there is no work? I am an ME at MedQuist and I get out of work pay if there is a shortage of work, but hasn't happened to me in a long time. My friend at WebMedX told me she runs out of work a lot ... how can you make money if you don't have work to transcribe? If I were you, I would call the department of labor if you are not getting out of work pay as it is the law.

I just talked to my friend who runs out of work all the time. She told me she is calling on Monday. It just isn't fair!

Its right in the manual - no pay for downtime, whether its their fault (computer issues), my fault (power outage), or "nobody's fault" (no work). We can either use up our vacation time at the company's convenience, or go without pay.

How can we make money? WE DON'T!!!! We sit here waiting for work and looking for a different job while we wait!!!

if you are out of work, they should assign another account so that you have work. Downtime as they talk about it means "computer downtime" or platform downtime.

I've been crosstrained on numerous (more than 5) accounts; and sometimes they are ALL out of work due to overhiring. There are basically no more accounts to be trained on, and my work flow is arranged so I automatically get work in my que for every account I have been trained on. If I run out of work, there is nothing there to assign to me.

The manual has been worded in such a way that they consider it all downtime - at least, they expect us to take vacation/not get paid in all the below scenarios:

"In general, Webmedx does not pay for downtime related to ISP problems, PC or system problems. We encourage the use of PTO for all downtime hours, not made up within the same working day. There is also the possibility that Management may REQUIRE the use of PTO in these situations. Webmedx offers a high level of technical support IN LIEU OF compensation for technical problems."

Page 21 "Time off benefits"

"PTO hours are to be used for vacation, illness, family or personal matters, PERIODS OF LOW WORK VOLUME AND COMPUTER DOWNTIME". Employees are require to use these PTO hours to ensure a good personal balance between leisure time, PERIODS OF LOW WORK VOLUME, and those unexpected absnces that affect everyone from time to time."

"WEBMEDX RESERVES THE RIGHT TO INSIST UPON THE USE OF PTO FROM TIME TO TIME OR AS MARKET DEMANDS DICTATE."

The manual makes it very clear they want us to use our vacation time at their convenience, and indeed, will force us to if they please.

Well, I've only been there 2 years and I've lost a lot of pay due to no work - even when flexing 12 hrs a day/7 days a week one paycheck was only $350 for 2 weeks!!! I had to change my shift entirely and I really hope I don't go through that again.

I think the manual is worded pretty harshly regarding what they "might" do if "necessary". You don't word an employee manual like that unless someone in management thinks they'll do it eventually.

not getting responses from places I apply to. I am on the other platform and run out all the time. I have to type regular work while waiting and for a time there was little or none of that either.

You should know how to type regular med rec work so you'll have something to do while waiting for radiology work.

Does anyone ever simply e-mail a resume to a company rather than completing the long, drawn out application they want filled out when you click the link to apply? I have 30 years of experience and do not want to spend time filling in information about every job I have ever had and why I left, where I went to school, emergency contacts, etc on their application, only to never hear from the company and would prefer just to e-mail a resume with a cover letter. Be very careful when applying to SoftScript. They have many openings but I have applied, when through the testing, got an interview, but they never called and when trying to find answers they never respond. I would be very skeptical of working for a company like this.
