Again? Wow! Wonder what's gonna happen when the US Transcription MTs find out M*Modal is aka MedQuist and who they really are! I've been there and done that with MedQuist many moons ago and from what I know of other MTs who work for them, they haven't changed a bit. Very sad to hear this.

One purchased MTSO at a time, the Q seems bent - on creating a transcription monopoly.

I wonder how far it'll have togo before the feds step in and break up these monopolies? It's so obvious what's going on.

I hear what you're saying, but nobody is forcing the smaller ones to sell. Nobody can force anybody to buy. SO, you can't say "break up the monopoly." You have to encourage the little guys not to sell.

I'm sure the "little guys" aren't making much money, and it's a sweet deal.

But this is America and I'm sure nobody forced the little guy to sell out.

Look around. How many med. & small MTSOs are - left, compared to a decade ago? s/m

Same with the big ones. How many of them have consumed each other, and now there are fewer of those, just bigger, harder on their employees, and more badly-run?

Even if it came down to just 2 or 3 of the MT giants, and no one else, that's pretty close to a monopoly. And I'm sure that even if there were only 3 left, the greediest of them would be trying to consume the other two.

Received call from TSM (or whatever they are called now) yesterday that she will be done as of November 18th. MModal is doing away with too many good ones. Don't understand their thinking, we will be merged with another BOB, another quality coach will be added, and a scheduling person. Why not leave it alone! Well just got word that the physical therapy company I work in house for is going point and click. Inevitable I know. We have about a month/month and a half. They are keeping one of us to work the system, make sure everything is correct in it, etc. So I'm going to start pounding the pavement. I am thinking of looking for PT front desk work. Several years ago, after working for MQ for a few years, I gave up on them - it was right around the time they introduced the whole cesspool thing and all my work disappeared. Then, I began working elsewhere and guess what, same boring story, the work dried up. So, with painful reluctance I came back to MQ and these last few weeks has been one heart-wrenching day after the next. So, I had work. No problems. Then, a few months ago, the work started coming in slowly. Then, I started receiving NO JOBS AVAILABLE here and there.
