Anyone have any information about Acusis Transcription out of Philadelphia? Good, bad, or anything about working for the company?

When I quit they were transitioning tech help to India and they COULD not structure a sentence in English that you could understand. I have heard that all the good work is sent to India while USA MTs get the crappy work. Very slow platform. I don't know why, but it so annoyed me because new files were called "fresh files" !! I would not advise working for them at all.

[ In Reply To ..]they lost a big account. No warming. I was one of those laid off. It was a little stressful working there with lots of emails from AMs that would be full of errors and then they would send out more corrections.
Wordscript platform slow and bulky.
They offered to put me on a list when worked picked up again, but I declined.

[ In Reply To ..]Small group of US MTs for a few accounts, have many accounts overall but almost all is done in India. Tech support is handled in India via company IM, could be very frustrating. Platform is their own, sluggish, not the most user-friendly. I heard many were laid off earlier this year as accounts were lost, don't know current status of US workload. Probably your par-for-the-course MTSO these days.

Pay is on-time, direct deposit.
Most supervisors are easy to communicate with.
Although they do occasionally run out of work, most of the time there is enough to keep us busy.
They try to acknowledge MT Week and other special events with contests and gift cards, which is at least a nice gesture not seen too often anymore.
They have health insurance if you work full time.
They still have accrued PTO (paid in lines).
Some accounts are pretty good.
CONS:
Pay rate has gone down in recent years.
Unfortunately, although the supervisors are nice, they have to answer to middle & upper management, which is mostly just your typical greedy, self-serving suits.
The software is the pits. It started out okay, but every time they add an upgrade, it gets slower at our end.
Demographics are a nightmare on some accounts. Many hoops to jump through.
Unfortunately, each year it seems the health insurance pays for less and less. Very high deductibles you have to meet before it even kicks in.
Less PTO available to us than before.
Some accounts are pretty bad.
Workflow coordinators & techs are in India.
As stated in post above, it's an India company that has a single office in the US, and a handful of US MTs, compared to hoardes of them in India.
More and more work is going to SR, which is a system that seems to learn nothing. You'll make the same corrections over and over again.
SR is slow, especially with all the demographic problems. Your production on SR will not go up, but your pay will go down.
Pay for SR is only half what you get for straight transcription. It might be a good wage in India, but here in the US, it's a joke.
Nothing particularly stands out about the company in either the pros or cons. It's just your run-of-the-mill MTSO sweatshop job.

I have seen some posts where people want to know about Acusis. I will tell you what I know and about my recent experience with them. The Human Resources person, Susanna Sovek,is located in Pennsylvania. My supervisor was located in California. The IT folks are in India and the CMT's are all over the place.
