I have been retired for 5 years and wonder what is going on in the MT world. I started doing transcription in-house on an IBM Selective II typewriter! Thank God I was at the end of my career when the outsourcing started and no hospital (or very few) had in-house medical transcriptionists. I worked for several companies, TTS the last. Are they still in business? Is speech rec and AI getting so good MTs aren't really needed anymore? I will stay my career served me well for many years, working in-house-good money, good benefits. What is the average wage per line now? Thanks to anyone answering me!
