I worked inhouse at a small, 5-woman MT agency for about year in the beginning and there was one snark in the pile. There's always at least one. Other jobs I had after I left MT (clerical office work),there were more women, so more snarks. I stuck it out until retirement. I have worked for men in my day, non-MT, and never had a snark problem.
I am prepared for the Dislikes and snarky responses! I was surprised, too, by the 3 Likes. Somehow, I think Dislikes and mean responses will be ahead.
I guess I am still curious why this MT Stars forum is even here, anyway, since a good chunk of the helpful responses get turned around. It's an unpleasant place to be anymore. So, maybe it's time to dismantle the forum and call it a day. I would feel bad for the snarks, because they won't have us normal breed to pick on, but maybe they can start their own Snark Forum somewhere and have at it with one another!
