Finding any coding job without experience will be difficult - anon

Look at the coding forums. There are current posts about people with certification but no experience who can't even get an interview. And most of the advice is to get a medical records clerk job in a medical office or hospital and hope you will be considered for a coding job after a couple of years.

If you're serious about coding, then see if any local community colleges have coding courses and talk to a counselor about it.

I live in the Northeast and am thinking about coding. A lot of the jobs here also require at minimum an RHIT and some want a BA in HIM. I have a BA but not in HIM. So I'm still undecided if it's worth the risk.
