I would add that it’s futile to compare what another person is paid to do job XYZ compared to what someone makes as an MT. There are a lot of jobs that seem menial that might pay more, but generally the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Retail and service sector employers are offering more pay because it’s been necessary due to the fact that no one wants those jobs, which should tell you something. You can’t compare what someone makes delivering pizza because it’s a completely different skill, and if you only have one delivery in an hour, you aren’t making money because they aren’t paying people to sit around.
