I find Instant Text to be the best. It's more expensive, but for long entries, it is better than Shorthand, which "chokes" when putting out large blocks of text, especially with formatting. Instant Text also fixes typos better than Shorthand. (For example, I always type "s he" and Instant Text is able to correct that, and Shorthand cannot (as far as I know).
Anyway, if you are using your text expander for simple stuff and aren't asking too much of it, Shorthand is fine. If you want it to do the long entries, including formatting and keyboard commands, Instant Text is the better choice.
