What are your duties as a “medical records technician”? That was my job title where I worked, and after more than 25 years with the same employer, part of it spent as an MT, I was making $22 and was at the top of the pay scale for my position. Techs here start at around $15 an hour. Outpatient coders in this region make less than you. You must have really generous bosses, a very high cost of living in your area, more responsibility than the average tech, or aren’t being truthful. Anyone who expects to make that kind of money in an entry level medical records job is going to be disappointed.
