I've also been doing MT for 20 years. I had one job where I worked in Word typing Ortho (all other jobs I worked in platforms supplied by the MTSO). I had my abbreviations in Word like you. I did not use an external spellchecker, Word caught any mistakes. As far as a headset, I use Skullcandy earbuds and they work fine for me. If I have to look up the spelling of a drug, I look on Drugs.com. Friendly FYI that yes some things have changed in the last 2 years, the main thing being working conditions have declined even more. I'm guessing that's why you got a lot of dislikes for wanting to get back into MT. But, good luck to you and I hope you are successful.
