That they have something so new, so innovative, so ground-breaking, so completely miraculous, so whatever... that it will revolutionize transcription, something nobody else has or has thought of, and it's going to save so much time and money and change everything and bla, bla, bla, bla...

The only one it saves time is really doctors. We still have to scribe the work. And the less physical key contact work we do with text expanders or even paid templates, they are going to pay us less because they justify that by their own delusion of us doing less actual physical work to be paid more for, as well as they have promised providers the moon and stars and cheap rates just to get that account so obviously they can't pay us what they are not being paid. Then whine to us how they would love to pay us more but they cant because the providers only pay so much. I've heard that tired and pathetically lame old story over and over again from almost every MTSO, including the ones who claim how wonderful they are and how well they treat their people.

Wonder why the MTSOs are paid so little? Because they kiss A and promise rock bottom rates to get their greedy paws on that account, then have to sweat and fret when they can't get anyone to type for those low rates. Too bad, so sad, isn't it?

Scribe is mostly going to go the way of transcription. The bare bones fact is that nobody wants to pay transcriptionists anywhere near what we are worth for our skill and expertise and knowledge.

Everyone wants something for nothing, that includes transcription of medical records. If people can get any kind of automated program to do the work for free, that's what they're going to go for. If they cant get a program to do it, then they get the cheapest and most desperate transcriptionist who will accept the lowest wages.

Scribe is nothing new and miraculous and innovative. It's nothing more than a different way to do transcription, no matter what BS story anyone tries to spread. They are all going to tell you they have a new and wonderful and miraculous app to do scribing with. It's the same BS kind of app everyone else has; dictate into some app on your phone or watch, and someone else transcribes it.

Many places advertise for a scribe, want medical assistants so they can have people do double duty, and some want a first-year medical student, some sort of degree, free advanced medical knowledge all for the price of a minimum-wage secretary.

Most of us are fed up with this crap and that is why we are getting out of it and that is why MTSOs have such difficulty finding people to work = high and unreasonable demands of IC MTs, versus sickeningly low wages they insist on paying that we can't even live on, but the kind of wages the MTSOs refuse to accept for themselves.

For those who constantly insist there will always be a need for transcriptionists, I do agree that part. Transcriptionist, scribe, whatever name you care to use. However, the wages as well as work conditions will continue to deteriorate until 90% of it is sent overseas or done by voice wreck programs of one kind or another. That's common sense.

Transcription is dead, as we know it. The ghost of it is simply called new names to try to desperately revive it. Ain't gonna happen.
