Anybody have suggestions on keeping foot pedal from slipping? - Slipper

I used to use a foot rest but it's too high and bothers my ankle so I started putting the pedal on the floor. However, it keeps sliding around and I can't find it with my foot easily. I tried like a long pad filled with beads in front of it for my heel to rest on but that too slides. Any creative ideas? Thanks.
