But seriously, it all just seems like her business finances were terribly mismanaged, either by herself or maybe someone else she thought she could trust. You hear those kinds of stories all the time - family/friend betrayal, etc.
Or maybe the success just went to her head. I imagine you've got to keep up appearances and portray an affluent lifestyle in order gain the interest of important people in the industry, and maybe she just pushed this whole thing to its limits and then some.
Unfortunately, so many of us are going through huge disappointment and disillusionment with our MT jobs today and being financially hurt along with that. Some business owners just consider it all the price of doing business - you win some, you lose some. It's a game to some of them. I've seen the KS webpage. The company profile reads like a dream for any MT, looking for a great job! There's everything there to grab your attention: full-time employee status with full benefits, part time positions, differential pay for 3rd shift, no ICs, US only, no offshore inquiries, lots of job openings. Thank goodness we have resources like this forum to check out and see what's really going on behind the facade of Keystrokes Transcription Service!!
