It all sounds so - sci-fi

Yet, AI has infiltrated so many areas of our lives already - in our homes, our jobs, our cars, the way we communicate, and now gaining even more of a foothold in our health care.

We're so used to hearing about robotic surgery that no one even bats an eye at that anymore. For years, EKG machines have been interpreting heart rhythms and providing immediate diagnoses for doctors, though not always accurate, and have seen this happen more often than it should. Speech recognition isn't consistently accurate either, and I don't think it ever will be. But AI, a software program, making medical decisions instead of a doctor?? That's really unsettling to imagine taking AI to that extreme.

The ongoing danger I see with AI is everyone becoming completely dependent on it to do everything for us to the point of losing our own ability to think for ourselves, forgetting how to do basic things, never questioning the validity or accuracy of what AI is "saying or doing." Where's the world going with this?
