IC versus employee - IRS - me1

Posted: Sep 3rd, 2019 - 1:01 pm In Reply to: It seems "employee status" is becoming history in the US today. - Who can afford it?

As an IC you do not get minimum wage, overtime, PTO, worker's comp, health insurance, unemployment benefits, etc. and you have to pay all of your social security. That is fine if you are truly an IC and in the "old days" used to get paid more for being an IC. They cannot make your schedule, etc. There is a form you can fill out AND NOT BE IDENTIFIED to the employer at the IRS, it is form 3949-A - suspected tax fraud. They need to fix this. We should all be employees.
