Unfortunately it is NOT mass hysteria. It is a few of us who have had experiences we can't really quantify trying to warn others who refuse to believe there is an issue. I would have opted out if I could have. The truth is scarier than fiction though. Google "stealth remote desktop software hidden icon". Tab to videos. Watch the video entitled "hidden remote access". It is 1 minute and 3 seconds.
