Is a fancy text expander necessary in VR editing? - ty

I have been using Instant Text for a year and have a subscription $89/yr. When it is up again I am considering switching programs to something simpler and that costs less too. I am looking into Fast Fox and Smartype. The main downer there is that, for example, IT does not export glossaries in any format but its own glo file and FF uses dat files so I may have to start my word lists all over.

The main thing here is that I always do editing and am never using long strings of text that make a text expander really useful. I am usually just inputting a few short phrases, long words, expanding acronyms, and correcting medications. It works great as a medication spellchecker. But isn’t Instant Text overkill for this light work? Suggestions?
