Other things to factor in - CaliMT

When you are working as an IC and not an employee, you will be the one answering the phones, looking up addresses and fax numbers, doing all the QA on your own work, keeping track of your lines, invoicing, etc. All of this will take your hands off the keyboard and result in no pay if you are paid by the line. You have to bump up your line rate to cover for this kind of thing or you will end up working for nothing. If you worked as an employee for a service at 7 cents a line, you should double that to be a contractor with an independent account.

If they will be paying you by the hour as an employee, you wouldn't need to double your rate as your hourly rate would cover all non-typing tasks.
