Beware - Grandy

It isn't just Nuance. People are frequently on this site complaining about Proscript also, and I have a couple of friends who work there. The Proscript platform is apparently antiquated, unable to properly format dates, not wildly compatible with medical terminology, does not "learn" as they claim it does, makes countless VR mistakes, countless medication mistakes, even with good dictators, misspelled words in the dictionary, all of which slows MTs down and cuts their pay. MTs are frequently out of work, pretty much expected to be available 24/7, receiving countless phone calls, texts, emails, when there is work available, by the time they jump on the system, the reports are gone. If someone makes a mistake, everyone receives a message/messages. MTs also complain of cherrypicking. Some of the QA reps nitpick constantly, they ding MTs even when protocol is followed, they are inconsistent; MTs have to correct the VR system dozens of times per report, but if they so much as misplace a comma, they are dinged on their QA score. There is some sort of built in header/subheader mess, which is reportedly a major pain in the azz. MTs, when sending something to QA for help receive lectures about what they should have heard, should have been able to find, etc. Some MTs will abandon a report, sacrificing lines, when they find it needs to go to QA for something, just to avoid QA reps, snarky comments, or an unacceptable QA score. Add to that the fact that MTs are expected to accurately transcribe dictations from medical personnel who barely speak English, and get every a, the, uh, and, sssssss, mumble, etc. correct. MTs are expected to know as much or more than the medical personnel they are transcribing. The short story is, many MTs at Proscript are making less than minimum wage. These are just a few of the comments I have noted below on this site, and from listening to my friends who work at Proscript. This is the new norm for this industry, though, and MTSOs are getting away with it, while medical transcriptionists struggle to make a "liveable" wage, which has become almost impossible at this point in time.
