just a vent...so beware! - Oldie Posted: Feb 7th, 2018 - 6:03 pm
We got an email a few days ago that said: "Please be aware that doctors often dictate wrong dates, worktypes, measurements, etc. It is up to you to use the information in the report and your own deductive reasoning to make sure that these are all correct..the final report is your responsibility." Huh? Shouldn't the FINAL responsibility by the doctor who puts his signature on the report...there are such things as typos..which even the most obsessive perfectionist might make...and we are constantly being reminded that if we mis-type a medication or dose, we might kill a patient!...quite a lot to ask for 4 cents a line...on top of all the nonsense like "no blanks policy" etc. and even if an error gets through, are all the doctors and nurses so dumb that they gave "one liter of narcotics" instead of the usual 1 mL..."well, the MT typed it...so I gave it"....jeez Louise.....yeah, a lot ask for 4 cents a line!
