I Live Allegis - SoFarSoGood

Posted: Dec 14th, 2016 - 12:34 pm In Reply to: Allegis Transcription? - Curious

I started work for Allegis in November and really like it. Just my opinion, but much easier than medical transcription. You get an occasional difficult audio file, but 90% of them are good and clear. Once you get used to verbatim, it's easy, and I use Instant Text as my expander. Yesterday, I finally hit my goal of 10 pages in an hour (which is either $14.50 or $15 an hour, depending on your payscale). It took a while to get there, but I did it. Of course the next one was a little harder to hear, and I only did 8 pages in an hour. Totally flexible hours. You have to do 100 pages a week to maintain IC status, which is easy enough. The rest is up to you - like medical transcription, if you sit and work your shift, you do all right and you get out of it what you put in, you know? I find it more relaxing, and some of the stories are really interesting. Certainly learning a lot about insurance! In fact, makes me wonder if I could be a claims agent, at some point. :)
