Laptop question - Trish

I have been a medical transcriptionist for about 8 years.  I have always worked on my desktop computer and am now wanting to purchase a laptop.  Any recommendations?  There are so many out there to choose from so I'm trying to get an idea of what to get!  I need as many USB ports as possible for mouse, keyboard (I use an external keyboard for speed), foot pedal, hot spot for internet.
