medical floor with pneumonia and ____(CIIRS). The doc pronounce it as "SEARS" and spells it as CIIRS

CIRS stands for cumulative illness rating scale.

or does it s/l that phonetically? Was thinking of SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome) if it weren't spelled out.

he probably misspelled it and it is SIRS. Doctors are the world's worst at spelling. ; )

SIRS is systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and if the patient has pneumonia, it is possible that that is what he is referring to.
