I have found help many times utilizing Stedman's Pathology & Lab Medicine book. Towards the back of the book are several appendices. One contains urine tests (page A70 with the 5th edition) and there it lists a majority of tests, descriptions, and normal ranges, etc. Hope this helps.

Also, sometimes I just initially type the whole thing without punctuating at all, then I go back and make sense of it. You're right, sometimes you just don't know where you are--but by the end it usually becomes clear. Also, I prefer semi-colons in this for clarity to the reader once I get it all figured out.
