Perfusion/ profusion... which is it? :( - Confused

Posted: Jun 02, 2010

I do not know a good rule of thumb for these two sound alikes... but I think profusion is like an excess of something isn't it?

"However, until she is through with her cardiac monitoring and perfusion Lexiscan test..."

Thank you!

perfusion as in flow of blood etc. - Txczech

perfusion

1. The act of perfusing.
2. The flow of blood or other perfusate per unit volume of tissue, as in ventilation/perfusion ratio.

profusion/perfusion - 1mt

Yes, it is perfusion Lexiscan. Perfusion is to inject fluid into blood vessel.

Profusion - maybe think of "profuse" sweating. Like you said, something in excess.
